Ioannis Liritzis

Professor of archaeometry
& natural sciences

Currently he is professor of archaeometry-natural sciences at the University of the Aegean, and Visiting Distinguished Professor at the University of Henan, China. He directs the Laboratory of Archaeometry (he founded in 1999) and the Lab. of Environmental Archaeology. Director-Coordinator of the Kastrouli Mycenean Settlement archaeological-archaeometrical Project, Member of the European Academy of Sciences & Arts; Corresponding Member of the Academie des Sciences, Arts & Belles Lettres, Dijon, France; Honorary & Guest Professor of Samara Institute of Culture, Russia; Honorary Fellow Edinburgh University, Honorary Professor Rhodes University, South Africa. His prior career includes the Greek Ministry of Culture (1984–1989) and the Academy of Athens (1989–1999). He is president of the International Delphic Academy (Berlin).
